Growing up and growing old

 

Everyone is growing up and I am just growing old! This is becoming my catchphrase. And even though I repeat it often, its realization really crept up on me and took me by surprise. After so many years of the status quo, all of the sudden significant changes seemingly jumped out of the shadows and took me by surprise. My oldest nephew graduated high school, my niece is looking at colleges and my youngest nephew is about be a freshmen in high school. Incredible. How did it happen? Maybe the most bittersweet thing is not only is everyone growing up but everyone is moving on. It's one of those necessary, facts of life but it still makes me kind of sad.
