Wanderlust
I consider traveling one of the greatest things a person can do in life. I read an obituary on the Los Alamos Daily Post's website about a local man and it mentioned his work, his family and hobbies. The obit also described how he traveled and explored many different countries and upon reading this, I thought, "Good man."
Hopefully whoever writes my obit will include all the travels I have been on; they are some of the coolest parts of my life.
I watched the sun set over the Taj Mahal. I fished in the Amazon River. I ate dinner on a pier in Capetown as dolphins swam by. I watched a Blue Footed Boobie bird hop and bob to impress a mate in the Galapagos and I still remember listening to a guitarist play "Rain Drops Are Falling On My Head" while I road in a gondola in Venice.
Traveling is a tricky thing, though. At least from my experience one trip just makes you hungry for more.
For example, I've just returned from Antarctica. It really doesn't get any grander or better than this place but it doesn't matter; I am dying to start planning another trip.
Maybe I suffer from wanderlust or greediness to see more and more of this planet but I am not fighting it. This planet is just too darn interesting and beautiful to to be ignored.
My wondering eyes have started to fall on the continent of Africa; more specifically on the Serengeti. Maybe in 2019... could make for some great material for a life story.
